What is Sculptra?
Sculptra is the trade name for PLLA or polylactic acid. It is classified as a filler, although it’s not the filler about which you’re most used to hearing in today’s beauty culture. Unlike the typical hyaluronic acid filler, which immediately volumizes through mass effect, Sculptra causes collagen and elastin regeneration and subtle volumization of large areas over time, following a few treatments. It is great for the insidious volume loss that occurs over the years, causing that tired, aged look.
