During your evaluation, we will formulate a plan specifically tailored to you. The art of beauty should focus on results rather than on individual treatments.

PDO stands for polydioxanone. Quite literally, a PDO thread is a type of surgical suture, which has been around for over 50 years. It was discovered that when inserted into human tissue, PDO causes collagen and elastin production. It can also cause increased skin regeneration, tissue adhesion and the breakdown of cellulite. As such, these threads can be used to tighten, plump, lift and anchor skin. There are two basic thread types that really should be under two different headings because they have two completely distinct actions. The first type is a smaller thread that—when many are used in one area—create plumping and filling. The second is a larger thread used--a lot more sparingly--for lifting. Accordingly, there are very different indications for each thread type.
You will be numbed up with some local anesthetic (think: dental office numbing). It feels odd more than anything, with minimal pain. It takes only a few minutes and there is virtually no downtime.
Results are INSTANTANEOUS. Aside from a small insertion site (think: a drop of blood), you will look amazing and rejuvenated IMMEDIATELY. It is possible to have a small amount of bruising afterward, but this is usually less than with the neurotoxins.
Again, results vary, but you can expect them to last from 6-18 months or even longer as the thread is absorbed by your body and replaced with collagen and elastin. In general, the smaller, filler threads have longer lasting results. The results from lifting threads usually last anywhere from six months to one year. Please never forget that this is NOT a facelift; this is a subtle rejuvenation. People will notice that you look more awake and youthful, but they won’t know why. It’ll be our little secret. You’re welcome.
Again, where CAN’T you get it? We’re talking face (acne scars, smokers lines, saggy cheeks, jowls, nasolabial folds, eleven lines), neck, abdomen, crepe-y knee skin, "lip flip" to name only a few.
Chemical peels are a kind of like a chemical exfoliation/abrasion. These peels cause all the old, icky skin cells that cause discoloration, acne, scars and fine lines to slough (or peel) off and regrow new, baby-fresh cells on your face. So it will be as soft, silky and smooth as a baby’s you-know-what. Most spa-goers will require 3-4 treatments.
You will have an agent applied to your skin at the spa. It will be left on for a few minutes and you may feel slight tingling. Some peels will need to be neutralized with a second agent and some won’t. Like anything, depending on the patient, the strength of the peel, the post-procedure hydration and the phase of the moon, everyone will have different amounts of peeling and some people may not notice any peeling at all.
This depends on the type of peel. You will usually have peeling and flaking of the skin for about three days to one week, after which time you will begin to see the new, fresh skin begin to regenerate.
Results are quite varied and depend upon the patient, how many times you have had it done and what we are treating. You can expect results to last anywhere from two months to two years. The more you baby your skin, the longer your results will last.
Face, neck, décolleté, back and buttocks are the most common areas.
IPL stands for intense pulsed light. Unlike a laser, IPL is white light and contains all wavelengths. It uses light energy to target certain colors in the skin—namely browns and reds (think: sun damage, broken capillaries, and rosacea). The skin heats up and then the body gets rid of the unwanted cells. There is a lot of buzz about the BBL (broadband light) facial right now. BBL is a broadband of light, where IPL is a single, intense, focused beam of light and is more targeted and precise. The IPL also stimulates collagen growth thereby improving texture and reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and large pores.
The Lumecca Optimas has a built-in cooling system, and as such, you will not require any numbing beforehand. So cool (sorry; pun intended)!
Within one week of the treatment, the skin will begin to heal. You may have some crusting, peeling, scabbing and darkening of spots prior to them flaking off and healing. After this, you will already notice improvement, however, the best results usually follow a few treatments (three is a good place to start and is generally how the packages are sold).
They are permanent! But you need to stay vigilant about your skincare and sun protection in order to maintain the best results.
Anywhere! Face, neck, hands and décolleté are some of the most popular.
